  • Do I need experience to raft?
For most routes, no. On calm and moving water (class I–II) the instructor briefs you on shore, then you paddle with the group. Experience and swimming ability only matter on class III–IV rapids — those trips are flagged in the description.
  • When is the rafting season in the Carpathians?
Carpathian rivers are fullest in spring — late April to mid-June, when the snow melts. In summer the water drops and routes turn calmer and family-friendly. The season runs April to October; each agency lists exact dates in its calendar.
  • What should I bring on the water?
Quick-drying spare clothes, shoes you don't mind soaking, a swimsuit, sun protection and a dry change in a waterproof bag. The raft or kayak, paddle, life jacket and — where needed — a wetsuit and helmet are provided by the organizer.
  • Is it safe for children?
Calm routes take children from about age 6, on a one-adult-per-child basis. Rapids have higher age and weight requirements. The minimum age and child discounts are on each trip card.
