A quick word on fitness, season and gear. The specifics of each route live on its trip card.

For day routes, ordinary fitness is enough — being able to walk uphill for a few hours. Multi-day treks and summits above 2000 m ask for stamina; each route's difficulty is marked on a 1–10 scale. When is hiking season in the Carpathians?
The main season runs May to October. Meadows bloom in May–June, summer is warmest and driest, and September brings clear views. Some agencies run winter snowshoe trips — those are separate departures on the calendar. What should I bring to the mountains?
Hiking boots with ankle support, a rain shell, a warm layer for the summit, water and a snack. For multi-day trips, a sleeping bag and mat (often provided). The full kit list is on each trip card. How hard are the routes?
Difficulty runs 1 to 10: up to 3 are easy walks for beginners, 4–6 moderate day hikes, 7–8 long treks with elevation gain, 9–10 expert ascents. Choose by your experience or ask the guide.
